Policies

Cancellations:

• Cancellations more than 48 hours from trip time are fully refundable. No refunds will be issued for cancellations that take place within 48 hours of the trip time.

Reservations:

• Full payment is due at the time of reservation.
  
• Listed Prices (unless otherwise noted) do not include applicable sales tax (as of 2023 – 9.85%) or Town of Clarkdale and AZ State Parks Permit Fee ($5.50).
  

Group Discounts:

• Group Bookings of 10+ Participants are eligible for a 10% discount.
  50% deposit is due at time of reservation.
  
• Remaining Balance due 7 days prior to Trip Time.
  

Minimum Trip Capacity:

• We reserve the right to cancel any departure if we have insufficient reservations. In the unlikely event this happens, we will do everything we can to reschedule, refund or otherwise accommodate you.
  

Age Policy:

• Participants must be 18 years of age.
  
• Minors, when accompanied by a parent or guardian are permitted to operate their own boat provided they are 13 years of age or older, or possess and demonstrate extensive knowledge of kayak operation.
  
• Minors under 13 are permitted to ride in a tandem boat with a parent or guardian, provided that they are at least 5 years old or weigh in excess of 40 lbs.
• Children are welcome on our trips! Ages 5 - 12 will be accompanied in by a parent or guardian in a tandem kayak. If booking with children, please call to book @ 800.478.4711
  

Safety and Physical Fitness Policy:

• Participants must be able to independently participate while also maintaining an appropriate and safe body position.
  
• Participants must be able to hold their breath while under water and, while in the water wearing a properly fitted Personal Floatation Device, be able to independently turn from a face down to a face up position keeping their head above water.
  
• Participants must be able to effectively communicate with the instructor and other course participants.
  
• Participants must be able to manage all personal mobility independently.
  
• Participants must not exceed 250 lbs. for single occupant, 500 lbs for a tandem boat. If you are over 250 lbs, we will have you in an inflatable kayak for your comfort and safety.
  

Intoxicant Policy:

• Participants must not be intoxicated. Any Participants that we believe to be intoxicated will be removed from the trip without refund.
  
• NO ALCOHOL OR INTOXICANTS. Absolutely no alcohol or intoxicants of any kind are allowed on the trip.
  

Other Considerations:

• NO GLASS ALLOWED. Plastic or metal containers are fine. Please don’t bring any glass on the river.

CHECK-IN LOCATION:

Our boathouse behind 920 Main Street, Clarkdale AZ 86324. Changing and restroom facilities are provided at our base of operations. Please arrive to the base 45 minutes prior to your scheduled trip time. If you book the 9:00 AM trip, you must arrive to the base by 8:15.

PARKING:

Please park in the Town of Clarkdale parking lot off 9th St., just north of our boathouse OR park adjacent to the Clarkdale Park, just south of our boathouse.

TRANSPORTATION/TRIP TIME:

The shuttle van departs our boathouse 30 minutes prior to trip time. No exceptions are made. It is imperative we maintain our schedule exactly, as our permit only allows us to put participants on the water at specific times. No refunds will be issued to customers who miss the departure of their trip. However, these customers may be offered the courtesy to reschedule to a later trip, depending on availability.
